DELIA GILL - Managing Director
My passion is my staff – I get a huge kick out of working with “my guys”, I am the office “Mum” mothering them whether they like it or not ! Every one of my people has an awesome sense of humor and the joke is that you have to be slightly insane to work with us. I truly believe in looking after the people that work for me, look after your family look after yourself, look after your customers – if you don’t do the first two you will never be able to give 100% to the customers when they need you.
I have been at Quay for over seven years now – mostly working as the operations manager, it has been a big challenge to take over the roll of General Manager but one made so much easier by my awesome workmates. Before working at Quay I worked for Capital Properties (now AMP) as the Office Manager, also managing two Wellington Properties. Prior to that I was in Melbourne working for an Engineering firm, I was the Quality Assurance Secretary, qualifying as a ISO9000 Auditor. I really enjoy the IT industry, I am not really that into the hardware side of it, as long as it goes I am good (thank heavens I have Computer techs in the office) I do really like software, working out all the tricks – the latest Office 2007 is fab!
We have some truly wonderful customers – most of them become part of the Quay “Family”. It is a real joy to make a visible difference to efficiency of their businesses. If the Quay team has a fault I would say that it is the casual way we treat our clients but I have to put that down to treating our customers as friends.
On the personal side, my husband, David, and I have been together now for over 15 years and he a hugely supportive of me and Quay (I am a lucky lady) I have two daughters who are extremely funny (take after their Dad). I am a big wine buff, big Aussie reds and Chardonnays(Dry River – yummy !!). I like to sew (very domestic) and I am an avid reader, Anne McCaffery being one of my favs. I like learning things all the time, at the moment I am learning how to do upholstery.

AMANDA MOORE - Office Manager
My job is now quite varied is made up of accounts/office management and sales support. In the morning I am busy with the accounts ie updating accounts, getting bills paid on time & the invoices and statements out to our clients. I have always worked in accounts – I guess numbers make sense to me. Late morning I switch desks and become sales support. This means I answer phones and general sales queries – anything to help out Kerry & Simon. I have no background in computers & certainly wouldn’t consider myself technically minded but after 3 years it’s amazing how much you absorb - before I worked here I had no idea what a motherboard, cpu or hard drive were!
I have just passed the 3 year mark working at Quay Corporate – boy does time fly. And I can honestly say I still love my job. The staff here are great and certainly make it a fun & rewarding place to work – hardly a day goes by without us having a laugh over something. Everyone really is like a family & the support they offer is fantastic.
My family is hugely important to me & the Quay work ethic certainly enforces this. My 3 kids are growing up fast – my eldest is about to leave home & embark on university life in Christchurch and I expect he will be back in the holidays along with loads of washing & looking for a few home cooked meals. My other 2 are at college (first year NCEA next year) and intermediate. In my spare time (not much of that with 3 kids, sports practices, sports games & a house to run) I love catching up with friends over a glass of wine and I love to read but don’t often get the chance to sit down & immerse myself in a good book.

GREG WRATT - Senior Engineer
I have been in the industry since leaving Tech (where I mastered nothing).
I enjoy being out and about and talking to people.
I am the phone guy at Quay and have also worked with “Small Business Server” since version 4 (8 years ago).
I am also certified….. by Microsoft to play with your computers and servers.
{insert from Delia} - Getting techs to write anything is like getting blood out of a stone and never more so than with Greg. Greg is one of our most senior technicians having worked with Quay for more than 8 years. He is the main reason that we are given the “nutty” title. He has a very loyal following of clients that will only deal with him, making his diary very full but he lives to be busy. He runs his own website http://www.nerdthings.com/ . He is into mobile phones and is our blackberry and windows mobile guru. Greg has a very tolerant wife, Vanessa and two lovely kids, Ashton and Charlie. (he is also addicted to Red Bull)
Quote from Greg “I am the Chuck Norris of IT”

SIMON CLARK - Senior Client Manager
I have recently joined Quay Corporate and have the distinction of now being the “oldest” member on staff – only by a couple of years though.
I am from the Hawke’s Bay and enjoy spending time up there with family during the summer – hot weather, beaches, and wine. My partner works at the Wellington Hospital emergency department and we have two children - a nine year old daughter and a two year old son, which keeps us all busy at home.
I have spent the last 20 years working for Caltex Oil (NZ) Ltd starting in Auckland and then shifting down to Wellington in 1992. I spent most of my time on the Retail side working either in the field as a Business Manager looking after service stations and commercial customers, or in various Marketing/management positions. In 1999 I was transferred to Thailand, (a real hardship), and spent 4 years in a regional office focusing on the Star Mart franchise, working throughout South East Asia and down to South Africa and New Zealand. This was a fantastic experience both personally and work wise, with exposure to a range of different cultures and work environments – something I will always remember.
Returning to NZ I went back into the field for a couple of years, but with Head Office shifting up to Auckland next year, it was time to look at a change. I’ve always had an interest in the IT industry and have had contact with Retail POS and back office systems in a multi site operation at Caltex. I started at Quay Corporate in May and have thoroughly enjoyed the change. The team at Quay have made the transition easy and the customers great to deal with. I have been impressed with the high level of customer service and technical expertise here at Quay and it is something I will try to live up to. I enjoy most sports, especially rugby and cricket, and love playing golf, although with a two year old at home, the clubs have not ventured past the front door much. I look forward to working with you at Quay.

JASON LIU
I have worked at Quay for about 3 years. Before that I was working as a network engineer in China since 1997.
In my first year at Quay, I built lots of computers and some servers, second years I did many paper works like server care, site documentations etc. Now my mainly job is about remote support and server healthy monitoring. And I have got more opportunities to be onsite.
{insert from Delia} What Jason does not tell you is that he is one of our most highly qualified Engineers, with a degree in computer science, an MCSE and MSCA, CCNA (Cisco). He writes lots of scripts for us and is our chief firewall expert, if anyone gets stuck on something or something needs to be researched we give it to Jason (He is silent but deadly)
p.s – Jason’s wife Grace is a wonderful cook!

KERRY WATSON - Senior Client Manager
I am a 31 year old native Palmy boy and I have been surrounded by computers for as far back as I can remember. From my first vic20 in 1981 to now, computers have never been far away. My professional involvement with IT began as a 17 year old straight out of school and into a full time sales role at a well known Palmers ton North PC retailer. Circa 1997, Jenny Shipley was about to roll Jim Bolger as prime minister and after 5 years on the sales floor I was spotted by a Lower Hutt based IT distributor who convinced me a change in cities would be fun so I moved to Wellington.
Fast forward to 2007, after 10 years in that position, I was approached by one of my long-standing Customers, Peter Haigh of Quay Corporate. He thought I might like to have a change of pace & customers, I agreed and nearly 6 months later I haven't looked back. What a great place to work, awesome people, fun atmosphere, and the ability to laugh despite the sometimes intense pace of the office. I've always had passion for the IT industry, even before that term was coined. One of the best parts of the job for me is doing business with such a wide and varied set of businesses and people. When I'm not at work, I try to keep myself fit, I am a huge science fiction fan and an avid gamer.

PHILLIP LEIGH - Engineer
{Written by Delia}
Phil has worked for Quay since July 2006 as a Systems Engineer and before that 1999 to 2003 (as a Account Manager in the Sales team). Phil wanted to try a more technical “bent” this time around and it has been great having his dry sense of humor back with us. Phil main job is monitoring our Quaycare client sites but he also manages to get out and about installing PC’s on site etc. He is a cable guru – you show him a cable and he can tell you what its for and where to put it (ha ha).
As he works mainly in the office Phil is the tech that most people will talk to when they ring up for technical assistance.
Phil is the only person I know that has a server in his linen cupboard. His other outside interests include the audio visual area – he does lots of work on local films.
In the past year he setup and supports a call centre based on a Windows SBS 2008 server and Windows 7 clients. Sounds easy... until you start to support users typing in twenty-five non-English character set languages (only three of which he has almost “slightly more than zero” ability in).
He has also quietly been extending the range of formats that data recovery can be performed on in house. Possibly one of the least favourite jobs, attempted data recovery still proves there are only two types of hard drive: those that have failed, and the others that haven't failed yet. (Are your backups current and complete enough? Have you DR tested recently?)

CHRIS BENNETT - Senior Engineer
{written by Delia}
Nick name – Scotty ! -
Started with Quay in 1998 as a Senior Engineer, went off and joined AMP in 2001 for a while but then decided that he missed us J - came back in 2004… He is one of the Old Men of the team, he is a man that always speaks his mind, there are no grey areas, only black and white. He is a huge asset to the Sales Team often assisting them with large proposals and advising them on technical issues. Clients like him as he will never “sell” them anything they don’t need, he treats a clients money like his own – so if you don’t need it he won’t let you buy it! Chris loves technology and finding the best and most efficient way of doing things even if that means going and building it himself (he is currently designing his own firewall). With over 20 years experience in the computer industry there is not much he has not seen J
Chris is a passionate person who loyal to his clients and believes in getting it right the first time.
He is into fast cars, faster computers and is another avid gamer! Chris has a lovely wife and a son.(p.s - he does not like his photo being taken !)

PETER BARKER - Senior Engineer
{Written by Delia}
The smile says it all ! Peter has been with Quay for 7 and a half years now (Feb 2000), fresh from Uni we broke him in… He has sent the last 6 of those seven years as a Senior Engineer. Peter is also the silent but deadly type, does not say much but does enjoy a good joke. Petes skills are too many to name but his main one (and probably the hardest to do) is keeping the tech team steady and focused.
Clients like him because he never makes anyone (including me) feel dumb if they stuff something up. He is very good at explaining things in a non technical way. Pete is a very composed person, does not get easily “ruffled” or upset, like all our techs he has a very loyal following of clients that think he’s the bees knees !
He is an avid Rugby fan (always at the games when played in the stadium), and loves curry! (he is happy to give restaurant reviews). Pete has recently brought his own place, so is now concentrating on learning how to fix roofs !

REBECCA PILBROW - Operations
Everyone knows me as “the scheduler” but as you can see I do have a name and a face. I joined Quay Corporate in July as scheduler after a 5 year break bringing up my son. While I haven’t been at Quay long, I very quickly felt part of the team.
My interest has always been in design and after leaving school I studied for a BA at Victoria University and then completed a Diploma in Interior Design. After graduating I worked for an interior design firm working on apartments and offices around Wellington. I then worked as an Account Manager for an advertising agency until 2001 when I moved to Sydney. I have been back in Wellington for 3 years.
So, while I haven’t worked in the IT industry before, I am quickly learning – being surrounded by IT tech’s is a learning process within itself! As the scheduler I am responsible for assigning jobs to the technicians – not always an easy job. And while my background has always been focussed in more creative fields, I am loving working at Quay Corporate, not only because of the client service side, which I have always enjoyed, but also (most importantly!) because it is such an awesome place to work and I feel part of the Quay Corporate family (and furniture) already.
