Hot Topics  The power of the email signature

I really like business cards - I like the detail in them and the clever things that people do with them to grab attention.  Most companies make sure tht their brand carries through to their business cards.  However I have been noticing that not many people are taking that brand image through to their email signatures.  Have a think about how many emails you send out every day.  Every single one of those emails is an opportunity to m arket your business.

So what do you include.....?
Your name, business name (perhaps include your positioning statement?), address - believe it or not people do refer to addresses, your email address (important - see below), phone numbers, web address, Facebooka nd Twitter links.
You can also put in your company logo and perhaps any special deals that you have going.  last week I received an email from a hotel offering a special deal which I passed on to someone that was coming to Wellington... it was really handy.
Here is the cruncher... it's not just the person that you are sending to that sees all that information, emails get forwarded on.  While you are checking the above list and saying "why do I need my email address?  It shows in their email where it's from!"  Yes it does but if/when it is forwarded on, your email address does nto always show, just your name.  That makes it just that bit harder for the next person to contact you, and rule number one in business is don't make it hard for people to contact you.
Facebook and Twitter are not for everyone but more and more businesses are moving toward it, so if you have a company Facebook and/or Twitter page then this is a great way to get more followers.
You may think this is a funny topc for an IT Firm to discuss, but at Quay, we want people to use the whole of their IT.  You have invested in it... you should get the most you can out of it...
